What this site does, and what it does not.

Last updated · April 15, 2026

Overview

This site is a personal writing archive operated by Mariano Rodrigo. It is a static site rendered ahead of time and served as plain HTML. It does not run a database of visitors, it does not show ads, and it does not sell or share data with third parties.

What follows is a plain-language breakdown of what the site does store, where, and for how long. If something here is unclear, write to me at the address at the bottom and I will revise this page.

What I store

On the server side: nothing about you, individually. The site is hosted statically; the host's web server logs include standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp) for the purpose of operating the service. These logs are retained for a short window (typically 14 to 30 days) by the hosting provider and are not aggregated or analyzed by me.

On your device: a single localStorage key called aether-theme that remembers which of the six visual themes you selected. That key is read by the page on load to avoid a flash of the wrong theme on subsequent visits. You can clear it at any time through your browser's storage settings.

Analytics

This site does not currently use any third-party analytics service. There is no Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or similar embed in the page source. If analytics are ever added, it will be a privacy-respecting tool that does not set cookies and does not track individuals across sites, and this page will be updated to reflect the change.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies. The only client-side state is the aether-theme localStorage entry described above, plus whatever your browser stores automatically (favicon cache, font cache, image cache). None of those constitute tracking.

RSS and feed readers

The RSS feed is a public file. When your feed reader requests it, the host's web server sees the request and records standard request metadata as it would for any other path. The feed itself does not contain any tracking pixels, redirects, or per-subscriber identifiers.

Your rights

You have the right to know what information about you is held, to request its deletion, and to ask questions about how it is used. Because the site does not collect personally identifying information beyond what is described above, these requests in practice will usually be confirmations that no such information exists. I will respond to any such request within a reasonable time, generally within seven days.
